List of Funds
A fund is a separate trust with its own donors and philanthropic purpose. The funds held by the Sheridan County Community Foundation are invested with the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation (GNWKCF); however, donors may designate a different investment entity.
Establishing a Fund with us is a simple process. Our staff is committed to helping donors meet their charitable interests through the exploration of charitable giving vehicles, determining the appropriate fund type, or assisting with planned giving techniques.
Cultivate Sheridan County Fund
The Fund was established in 2017 through a matching initiative provided by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation. Incoming donations into this endowment fund were eligible for a $1 for $1 match up to $50,000 during the designated Match Month. The Hansen Foundation has pledged to continue this annual match challenge through 2025. We are eager to open this fund up for grant applications in the near future!
Dane G. Hansen Community "Pass-through" Grant Fund
From 2014 through 2021, the Hansen Foundation distributed $100,000 a year to each of the 26 counties. Beginning in 2022, the pass-through grant funds reduced to $50,000 each year in conjunction with the announcement of new funding opportunities for the countywide community foundations through the matching initiative. Area organizations can apply for funding to support your projects and activities. Deadline is the last day of each month.
