The Sheridan County Community Foundation is now accepting applications for a newly created part-time Program Officer position as it expands its staffing to better support the community and economic development activities of Sheridan County.
The Program Officer will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Director of the Community Foundation. This position will involve managing day-to-day operations and assisting with various initiatives. A key focus will be on economic development projects in Sheridan County, Kansas, aimed at fostering sustainable growth and enhancing the local economy. The Program Officer will also assist in developing relationships and working with individuals, area groups, businesses, and other entities for the purpose of community development and betterment of life in Sheridan County.
The Foundation has been led by Executive Director Karl Pratt since he was first hired as the part-time Board Liaison in the fall of 2018. His role has included both Foundation and Economic Development activities as he has grown the position to full-time over the past several years thanks to the support of the City of Hoxie, Sheridan County, Dane G. Hansen Foundation, and the growth of the Foundation’s operational assets.
Thanks to the generosity of the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the Patterson Family Foundation who are jointly funding a Foundation Director Staffing Grant, Pratt will be shifting his work duties to include those solely of the Foundation with oversight and supervision of the new, part-time Program Officer position.
“We are very excited to be able to create this new position to support our efforts to make Sheridan County a better place to live, work, and dream,” said Pratt. “We are grateful to the Hansen Foundation and the Patterson Family Foundation for this amazing opportunity to allow us to redirect some of our existing funding to expand our staffing and our capacities to further conduct both Foundation and Economic Development related work. We are also grateful to the commissions of both the City of Hoxie and Sheridan County for their continued support of the Foundation and Economic Development endeavors.”
