Hansen Matching Fund Initiative
Start an Endowment. Leave a Legacy.

New Matching Fund Opportunity Available Now Through 2027
The Sheridan County Community Foundation (SCCF) is proud to launch an exciting matching grant initiative that helps donors make a greater impact — now and for generations to come.

Inspired by the legacy of Mr. Hansen himself, the Dane G. Hansen Foundation is offering up to ten $2,000 matching grants for the development of 10 new qualifying funds established with the Sheridan County Community Foundation (SCCF) in 2025, 2026, and 2027, respectively.

Utilizing $30,000 of the Patterson Family Foundation funds received as a result of the successful 2024 November Match Month Campaign, SCCF will be adding an additional $1,000 in matching grants to each new fund developed as part of the initiative for a matching potential of $3,000 per fund!

How It Works
Donate $3,000
You/your organization contributes $3,000 to establish a new fund.
Receive $3,000 Match
We match your initial donation with $2,000 from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation plus an additional $1,000 from the Patterson Family Foundation that we raised during our 2024 Match Month Campaign.
Donate an additional $4,000
You/your organization contributes an additional $4,000 over the next three years until the fund's balance has met the $10,000 required "endowment" threshold.
Important Details
-
If you are unable to reach the $10k minimum in the first year (12-month period), you will have three additional years to raise the funds to that threshold.
-
If the minimum endowment threshold is not met at that time, all funds will be added to the principal amount of SCCF’s large endowed unrestricted grant fund, Cultivate Sheridan County.
-
Scholarship funds and certain donor-advised funds do not qualify for this program.
-
Each fund can only receive one match once during the three-year program period.
