Youth Action Council

The Sheridan County Youth Action Council (YAC) is a student leadership initiative sponsored by the Sheridan County Community Foundation (SCCF) designed to empower local youth to serve, lead, and strengthen their community. The YAC was established during the 2025-26 academic year with eight founding members.

YAC Mission
To empower Sheridan County youth to support and grow our communities through service, engagement, philanthropy, and education for years to come.

Through the Youth Action Council, high school students gain hands-on experience in philanthropy, leadership, and community service while helping identify and address needs across Sheridan County. YAC members work together to learn about community development, participate in service projects, and represent the voice of youth in local conversations.
Students involved in YAC develop valuable skills in leadership, teamwork, problem solving, and civic engagement while making a meaningful difference in their hometown.
