Give & Grow Sheridan County
Match Day Campaign
Sheridan County is fortunate to have a number of area organizations whose programming and events enhance the lives of those living in not only the county but also the region. From the arts to sports and recreation, there is some kind of offering and activity for everyone.
SCCF sponsors the annual match day campaign in an effort to provide direct support to these organizations.
Dane G. Hansen Foundation Match Program
Match Month Campaign
Since 2016, the Dane G. Hansen Foundation has been offering a one-to-one "Match Month" challenge to area community foundations.
Local donations raised totaling $50,000 are matched $1 for $1 by the Hansen Foundation. In addition, community foundations that reach this goal also receive $20,000 for their operating endowment funds and $5,000 for immediate operating needs. These additional incentive gifts are helping our foundation to establish a strong operational footprint that will make us sustainable for years to come.
Funds raised from this campaign will be made available in the form of community grants in the future.
Strategic Doing Initiative
“Strategic Doing” is a term and practice which brings community members together to proactively work through the steps and processes of a specific project, for the betterment of the community.
Communities using the "Strategic Doing" process often find success thanks to its community-driven focus, a definition of action-items, milestones, and follow-up/accountability elements.
Past Strategic Doing projects in the county have included the Hoxie Grade School playground renovation, Hoxie Recreation Community Center, a community garden, and various upgrades to the hospital.
