Help Us
Name the Park
The Pocket Park Mural pays homage to the history of Main Street in Hoxie. It features representations of the Ben Franklin Store, Pix Theater, Shaw Jewelry Building, Hoxie parades, cruising the streets in vintage cars, the Sprayer Plane ball drop, and more. The Pocket Park Mural will be rich in history, making the park space worthy of a great name. We need your help creating a memorable name for the neon sign replica of Della's Café, which was located there before it burned down in 1980 and has remained vacant since.

Participation Information:
For years, the Park on Main Street idea has been called the "Pocket Park." However, the Hoxie Parks Improvement Committee needs your help to create a permanent name that is lasting and meaningful! Name ideas will be collected, and the Hoxie Parks Improvement Committee will choose the top three by the end of March 2026. A vote will take place with a final name to be announced.
Please submit your ideas using this form link. Names must be appropriate to the park's inspiration.

Stories on Main Project
Stories on Main is a project born from a passion for history. It aims to create a documentary-style retelling of community members' memories of Main Street. These stories will enhance the Mural on Main Project. In collaboration with the Sheridan County Historical Society and other community members, the documentary will be hosted on the Historical Society's YouTube page. A permanent QR code and link to the video will be placed in the park, allowing visitors and residents to learn about Hoxie's history through local memories.
Individuals wishing to participate in oral history interviews are asked to complete the sign-up form by clicking the button below by February 27, 2026.
***Please note: Not all will be interviewed or make it to the final cut of the video.
