About the event
The Sheridan County Community Foundation would like to invite area high school students to participate in a Community Assets Mapping exercise on Monday, Oct. 16 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bottle KAP Studios, 721 Main St, Hoxie.
What is Community Asset Mapping?
Asset Mapping is a process where community assets or resources are identified. A community asset is anything that can be used to improve the quality of community life. It can be a person, physical structure or place, community service, or business, or it can be you or anyone else in the community. By drawing a map of your community and the existing resources, community strengths can be identified as well as areas that may need improvement.
The goals of the exercise include gaining insight into the youth perspective of their community as well as the development of several student-led projects for the betterment of Sheridan County.
Our current Youth Ambassador Program High School Board Members Charlie Foote, Kinley Rogers, and Kash Schiltz will be assisting as event hosts. The exercise will be facilitated by Nadine Sigle with the Dane G. Hansen Foundation. Refreshments will be provided.
