Sheridan County is gearing up to be one of the spotlight communities for the 2025 Big Kansas Road Trip (BKRT), and we're inviting local musicians & singers to step into the limelight! This is a special opportunity to showcase your talents to neighbors, visitors, and the passionate adventurers of the Kansas Explorers Club by leading three to four Sing-Along Pop-Up events during the day of festivities.
The Big Kansas Road Trip, organized by the Kansas Sampler Foundation and fueled by the energy of community exploration, is all about authentic experiences, genuine connections, and celebrating the spirit of rural Kansas. Sheridan County will be welcoming hundreds of curious travelers Saturday, October 4, 2025, for a chance to explore our towns, culture, and local gems — including YOU.
The Sheridan County Community Foundation (SCCF) is spearheading the local event and is looking for Sheridan County-area musicians or singers (soloists or small groups) who can lead casual, fun sing-alongs in pop-up settings such as the Hoxie Courthouse Yard, Bottle KAP Studios, Selden Walking Park, and Cottonwood Ranch. These pop-ups will be scheduled during the BKRT day and are meant to bring people together in joyful, unexpected moments of music and community.
Whether you play guitar, piano, ukulele, or just have a great voice and a love for connecting through song, we want you to be part of this unforgettable weekend. Genres include but are not limited to: Patriotic, Show Tune, Gospel, Folk//Country.
How to Get Involved
Interested musicians should reach out to SCCF Special Projects Coordinator at projects@growsheridancounty.org by August 22, 2025, to express interest. Please include a short description of your musical style, any instruments played, and your availability during the BKRT day.
This is your chance to not only perform but to lead your community and visitors in something truly special. Help us bring the Sheridan County spirit alive through music!
