Community Foundation to take part in Hansen Foundation Match Month

The Sheridan County Community Foundation will once again take part in the Dane G. Hansen Foundation’s Match Month initiative accepting donations every day during the month of November 2022. The Hansen Foundation will provide a 100% match for every dollar raised up to a maximum of $50,000 per county which will be put into the endowed unrestricted community grant fund. If the full $50,000 is reached for the grant fund, they will also receive an additional $45,000 for an operating endowment and $5,000 for immediate operating needs.

“We are once again excited to participate in the Match Month Challenge this year as area donors along with the Hansen Foundation help us continue to grow our largest fund, Cultivate Sheridan County, which will be able to provide grant support for the betterment of Sheridan County now and forever,” says Karl Pratt, SCCF executive director. “This will be our seventh year to participate in the campaign. With future donor support and the Hansen Foundation’s commitment to offering the matching challenge annually through April 30, 2026, we have the potential to grow the fund to over $1 million by that time, firmly planting the seeds for wonderful things in Sheridan County for years to come!”

No donation amount is too big or too small for this challenge. Everyone with an affinity for Sheridan County and the communities therein are encouraged to contribute and help make a difference in the lives of those in the area for years to come.

Sheridan County residents are encouraged to be on the lookout in their mail for this year’s campaign mailing which includes information about the foundation, grants given throughout 2022, news about six new “Field of Interest” grant funds that provide for additional funding opportunities to area organizations as well as an update on our local Strategic Doing initiatives and more.

Beginning Nov. 1, donations can be mailed to SCCF, PO Box 445, Hoxie, KS 67740; dropped off at Bottle KAP Studios at 721 Main St. in Hoxie or online at www.gnwkcf.org/donate/sheridan-match.
