The Sheridan County Community Foundation is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 Strategic Doing Initiative, aimed at fostering community engagement and empowering residents to lead impactful local projects. All community members are invited to attend and actively participate in the development of new or existing project ideas for the betterment of Sheridan County.

The Foundation will be conducting two Strategic Doing events in early February:

  • Hoxie Session: Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hoxie Recreation Community Impact Center, 820 Main St, Hoxie, KS 67740

  • Selden Session: Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Selden Community Center, 110 N Kansas Ave, Selden, KS 67757

Event Highlights:

  • Introduction to the "Strategic Doing" Process: Learn about this innovative tool designed to guide collaborative community projects.

  • Project Insights: Discover the successes and challenges of past projects and receive updates on ongoing initiatives.

  • Collaborative Brainstorming: Participate in discussions and share ideas to spark new projects that benefit our community.

“We are honored to welcome back Betty Johnson from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, who will facilitate the sessions and provide invaluable support for our Strategic Doing efforts throughout the year,” said SCCF Executive Director Karl Pratt.

“Betty has been an amazing partner and friend to the Foundation and our communities over the years. She always brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and connections to other resources which aid in our everyday work as well as those serving on Strategic Doing project committees.”

Attendees can enjoy light refreshments while connecting and collaborating with fellow community members.

Registrations are requested online by Friday, Jan. 31 at www.growsheridancounty.org/events and then navigating to the appropriate event location page.

Additional follow-up meetings will be scheduled throughout the year as new project committees are developed.

Committees are asked to continue working on their projects and are encouraged to apply for grant funding to the Sheridan County Community Foundation, Dane G. Hansen Foundation, and/or other area funders based on project scope and costs.
