A new county-wide website for residents and visitors to Sheridan County is now live and available to access by the public.
Residents are encouraged to visit and bookmark the site at https://sheridancountyks.gov.
The website, which is co-managed through a partnership of Sheridan County and the cities of Hoxie and Selden, aims to serve as a one-stop shop for both county and municipal government items and community information.
Landing pages exist for Sheridan County, Hoxie, Selden, and the townships of Angelus, Seguin, and Studley.
Visitors can access government departmental directories, agendas and minutes for commission and council meetings as well as public notices.
Additionally, several directories featuring informational tiles for area businesses, medical services, cultural and recreational organizations, churches, etc., are also available offering a quick stop for contact information and links to websites, Facebook pages, and more, as available.
Residents can submit concerns or questions using the “Report a Concern” form found on the Sheridan County, Hoxie and Selden landing pages. Inquiries will then be sent to the respective government staff to be addressed.
A key feature of the website is a community calendar to highlight area events and activities occurring in Sheridan County. Area organizations can utilize a submission form to have their events added to the calendar upon review and approval by the webmasters. The public is invited to help populate the calendar with upcoming events and activities in Sheridan County through this feature.
Businesses and organizations, etc., wishing to be added to a directory will also soon be able to complete a request form on the directories landing page to submit their information for review and approval by the webmasters.
The website is a continual work-in-progress with photos and new pages being added as available and needed.
Sheridan County has created this website as a public service. While every effort has been made to provide accurate information, mistakes can and do occur. These mistakes can be due in part to typographical errors, changes in departmental policies or changes in current statutes.
Visitors who find an error are asked to contact the webmasters through the form available at https://sheridancountyks.gov/contactus.
Co-webmasters include Sheridan County Clerk Heather Bracht, City of Hoxie Clerk Janet Bainter, Selden Council Member Danielle Schiltz, and Sheridan County Community Foundation and Economic Development Director Karl Pratt.
