Foundation awards grant to Northwest Kansas Foundation for HOPE

The Sheridan County Community Foundation is pleased to award $800.00 to the Northwest Kansas Foundation for HOPE to assist in its mission to support individuals and families affected by cancer. SCCF awarded the grant during its January 2024 cycle.


The mission of the Northwest Kansas Foundation for Hope is “…to Help Offset Patient’s Expenses [HOPE], for local families afflicted with cancer. Northwest Kansas Foundation for HOPE supports families in Cheyenne, Decatur, Gove, Logan, Rawlins, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas, and Wallace counties.”

SCCF encourages area organizations to submit applications for their projects and activities online at www.gnwkcf.org/hansen-grant for funding consideration. Applications deadlines are the last day of each month for consideration during the Board of Directors monthly meeting the following month.


Six categories are considered with making grants: 1) Education; 2) Health Care; 3) Community Social Services and Security; 4) Conservation and Environment; 5) Arts and Culture; and 6) Community Beautification.

Funding to support of the Rock ‘N Recovery Family Event, to be held on September 20, 2025, that is designed to destigmatize addiction recovery. The all-day gathering will celebrate individuals living in long-term recovery while raising awareness that people can and do recover from substance use disorders.
