Foundation offering paid summer internships through Nex-Gen Program

The Sheridan County Community Foundation (SCCF) is pleased to announce its 2026 Summer Internship Program, offering two paid internship positions for high school and college students interested in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit work, philanthropy, and local economic development.

These paid internship opportunities are made possible through SCCF’s participation in the Nex-Gen Internship Program, a workforce development initiative of Nex-Generation Round Up for Youth, Inc. Through the Nex-Gen program, students are placed in meaningful, paid internships while receiving professional development, mentorship, and exposure to career opportunities across northwest and north central Kansas.

“We are excited to welcome students who want to learn more about how communities grow and thrive,” said Karl Pratt, SCCF Executive Director. “Through this internship, students will gain practical skills, learn how philanthropy and fundraising work, and see firsthand how local organizations support long-term community success.”

Summer interns will assist with donor database entry, e-communications, basic graphic design, website and social media updates, and general office projects. Interns will also help distribute event and program fliers and may assist with creating promotional and marketing materials, including video, highlighting Foundation programs, economic development initiatives, and community assets.

In addition, interns will gain exposure to grantmaking, fundraising, and philanthropy, learning how charitable dollars are raised, managed, and awarded to support local projects and nonprofit organizations throughout Sheridan County.

The internship is open to students age 16 and older. Applications are coordinated through the Nex-Gen Internship Program and must be submitted online by March 1, 2026, at https://nex-generation.secure-platform.com/site.
