Foundation to conduct Golden Stars ‘Surprise’ Grant Scavenger Hunt during fair/carnival week

In celebration of the annual Sheridan County Fair and Carnival, the Sheridan County Community Foundation is pleased to conduct a Golden Stars ‘Surprise’ Grant Scavenger Hunt from Wednesday, July 17 through Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Participants of this scavenger hunt will have the opportunity to locate four Golden Stars strategically placed around the fair and carnival grounds.

Each star found will not only earn the lucky recipient a handful of free carnival tickets for themselves but will also have the chance to award a $500.00 “surprise” grant to a local Sheridan County non-profit of their choice from a list of eligible organizations. Only one surprise grant can be awarded per non-profit.

Here is how the event works in short:

  • A new Golden Star will be hidden daily beginning Wednesday, July 17 through Saturday, July 20.

  • A social media post will be shared every morning on the Foundation’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/sheridanccf) with a riddle hinting to the location of that day’s star.

  • A lucky scavenger will find one of the Golden Stars each day!

  • The lucky winners will be awarded carnival tickets and the opportunity to choose a Sheridan County-based non-profit organization to which to award a $500.00 surprise grant!

“We hope you will join us in this event as we offer a fun and easy way to get involved in charitable giving, promote community spirit, and make a difference for the organizations working to better Sheridan County,” said Karl Pratt, SCCF Executive Director.
