The Sheridan County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that more than $28k of the $70k local fundraising goal has been raised to date for the annual November Match Month Campaign!
This is the eighth year for the Foundation to participate in this fundraising campaign sponsored by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, which will provide $1 to $1 matching funds on the first $50k raised locally. As an added benefit this year, the Patterson Family Foundation, based in Kansas City but dedicated to serving rural Kansas, is also providing a $1 to $1 matching opportunity for the first $70k raised.
“We are so grateful to all of the generous donors who have contributed to date and are helping us work towards our $70k goal,” said SCCF Executive Director Karl Pratt. “We continue to be awe by the opportunities afforded to our foundation and thus our county and communities and those across the state by both the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and Patterson Family Foundation. Our gratitude truly knows no bounds for their support, belief, and commitment to rural life and making it better for everyone through this campaign and the many grant and other funding programs they both provide.”
The funds raised will be added to SCCF’s large “Cultivate Sheridan County” endowment fund which has been growing over the past several years and currently sits at over $830,000.00. Once the fund has reached $1 million in principal, the Foundation board of directors will open it up for grant applications, with an estimated yearly payout of approximately $50,000.00 in grant proceeds in perpetuity.
No donation amount is too big or too small for this challenge. All with an affinity for Sheridan County and the communities therein are encouraged to contribute and help make a difference in the lives of those in the area for years to come. Donations can be mailed to SCCF, PO Box 445, Hoxie, KS 67740; dropped off at Pratt Law Office, 736 Main St., in Hoxie or online at www.gnwkcf.org/donate/sheridan-match.
SCCF is an affiliate of the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation based in Bird City. The foundation seeks to encourage, prudently manage, and distribute charitable contributions to improve the quality of life of Sheridan County residents, now and in the future.
