New Designated Fund Established to Support Sheridan County Wellness Center

The Sheridan County Community Foundation (SCCF) is proud to announce the establishment of a new designated grant fund to support the Sheridan County Wellness Center.

An initial $3,000 donation has been contributed to launch the new fund, which has been matched by the Hansen Matching Initiative—a collaborative effort between the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the Sheridan County Community Foundation to grow new endowment funds across the county. Under the terms of the initiative, donors have up to three years to build their fund to a $10,000 minimum threshold. Once this goal is met, the Sheridan County Wellness Center Fund will be eligible to distribute an annual grant to support the ongoing needs of the center.

AmberMed has graciously agreed to serve as the fund's fiscal sponsor. Once fully endowed, AmberMed will oversee the annual disbursement of grant funds to the Sheridan County Wellness Center group for the unrestricted support of facilities, equipment purchases, programming, and more.

About the Sheridan County Wellness Center

This mission of the Sheridan County Wellness Center is to promote health and wellness for residents of all ages. The Wellness Center, which is located in the basement of the Long Term Care Unit of the AmberMed health complex, offers a variety of weight machines, free weights, and cardio equipment. The facility is accessible for patrons to utilize with an annual paid membership (individual and family rates available).

The Wellness Center continues to be a vital part of the local community’s commitment to better health outcomes, active lifestyles, and supportive environments for all.

Since its inception, the Wellness Center has guided by a dedicated volunteer board. Current members include Lishe Kaiser, Brenton Boese, Calvin Ochs, Gannon Spresser, Jodi Weimer, and Shannon Kaiser.

“We are thrilled to support the Sheridan County Wellness Center in this long-term capacity,” said Karl Pratt, Executive Director of the Sheridan County Community Foundation. “This new fund not only affirms the community’s investment in wellness but also empowers the Center’s leadership with sustainable funding tools for years to come.”
