The Sheridan County Community Foundation (SCCF) is pleased to announce the purchase of a permanent office building located at 812 Main Street in Hoxie, marking a significant milestone in the Foundation’s continued growth and long-term commitment to serving Sheridan County.
The acquisition of this building establishes a “forever home” for the Foundation, providing a centralized, welcoming space to better serve donors, nonprofit partners, businesses, community leaders, and residents throughout the county. Having a permanent location will allow SCCF to host meetings, donor conversations, and small community gatherings while strengthening its operational capacity for years to come.
The purchase was made possible through a combination of support and partnership, including funding assistance from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, Logan, financial support from the Sheridan County Commissioners and the City of Hoxie Commissioners, as well as the strategic use of the Foundation’s own financial reserves.
“We are incredibly excited to establish a permanent home in downtown Hoxie,” said Karl Pratt, SCCF Executive Director. “This space represents stability, accessibility, and our long-term commitment to Sheridan County. We are deeply grateful to the partners and supporters who helped make this possible.”
SCCF extends sincere appreciation to Michael Schaffer, the seller of the building, and to Mike Weimer of Midway Realty for his assistance throughout the purchase process.
Additional thanks are extended to Eland Title Co. and Pratt Law Office for their generous donation of desks and other office furniture, as well as Heim TV & Appliance for contributing appliances and Harry Joe and Ellen Pratt for breakroom supplies.
“We will host an open house event once we are fully settled,” noted Pratt. “We encourage folks to stop by anytime during our regular office hours or by appointment as needed.”
Regular office hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The building houses offices for foundation and economic development activities for Sheridan County.
