Sheridan County Community Foundation announces Executive Director search following leadership advancement

The Sheridan County Community Foundation (SCCF), an affiliate of the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation, has announced it is seeking applicants for the position of Executive Director as it undergoes an upcoming leadership transition.
The Foundation’s current Executive Director Karl Pratt has accepted the role of Chief Executive Officer with the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation (GNWKCF), marking a significant advancement and reflecting the strength of leadership within the region. Pratt will remain with SCCF through May 8 and assume his new role with GNWCF on May 11.
“Serving Sheridan County through SCCF has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” said Pratt. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together, and I’m excited to see the Foundation continue to grow and thrive under new leadership for years to come.”
The Executive Director position is a key leadership role responsible for advancing SCCF’s mission to enhance quality of life in Sheridan County through philanthropy, partnerships, and strategic community investment.
Responsibilities include leading fundraising efforts, managing daily operations, overseeing grantmaking processes, coordinating community initiatives, and working closely with the Board of Directors and local stakeholders.
“This is an incredible opportunity for someone who cares deeply about our communities,” said SCCF Board Chair Jason Weimer. “We’re looking for a leader who can continue growing the Foundation’s impact and help shape the future of Sheridan County.”
The position is full-time (36 hours per week) and based in Hoxie, Kansas. Compensation ranges from $45,000 to $50,000 depending on experience, and includes benefits such as a Simple IRA match, Health Reimbursement Account, paid time off, and holidays.
The Executive Director will be employed through the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation while carrying out responsibilities on behalf of SCCF.
