The Sheridan County Community Foundation is pleased to announce an updated November Match Month fundraising total of $100,050.00 raised during this year’s campaign!

“On behalf of the Foundation board and myself, we are so incredibly thankful and blessed by those individuals, families, businesses, and organizations who helped us reach and surpass our $70k goal this year,” said SCCF Executive Director Karl Pratt. “In fact, we didn’t just surpass our goal, we blew it out of the water!”

The Foundation received 115 donations during the annual campaign this year.

“We are especially excited by the increased number of donations, new donors, returning donors, and donors who increased their gifts this year,” stated Pratt. “I truly believe having the added bonus of not only the Dane G. Hansen Foundation’s $50k match but also the $70k matching opportunity provided by the Patterson Family Foundation really resonated with donors.”

“It is not often that you can get two exceptionally large matching pots of money to sweeten and increase the impact of your local donations. This year, each gift was more than tripled thanks to the generosity of these two private foundations who believe in the continued prosperity of northwest Kansas and rural Kansas, in specific,” Pratt continued.

Having met the Match Month goal, a yearly challenge by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, Logan, the Sheridan County Community Foundation will now receive $50k in matching funds from the Hansen Foundation as well as an additional $70k from the Patterson Family Foundation, Kansas City.

Match Month campaign funds will be added to SCCF’s large endowment fund, Cultivate Sheridan County, which will have the capacity to grant out $50k+ annually once the $1 million in principal threshold has been reached.

With an additional $50k in bonus operating support from the Hansen Foundation that SCCF will receive, the overall campaign total has increased to $270,050.00 which will benefit Sheridan County now and for years to come.

SAVE THE DATE!

In appreciation to all Match Month donors this year and in the past, as well as members of Sheridan County, the Foundation has scheduled a Community Appreciation Event for Sunday, January 14 from 5-9 p.m. at the Sheridan County 4H Building.

The public is invited to attend.

The event will include a complimentary BBQ dinner as well as entertainment by the dueling pianos group, Colorado Keys, from the Denver area. Registrations for the free event will be requested to assist with preparations. Details on how to register will be announced soon.

In the meantime, the public is encouraged to ‘save the date’ and make plans to join the Foundation staff and Board of Directors for the celebration.
